Takapuwahia Marae

Haere Mai, we were welcomed onto a marae on Wednesday April 1st.

We are ready to go on our first school trip

We are so excited to be on the bus

Jack told us he did sticks, a haka and played running games.

"There was singing by men and girls. They sang in maori and I understood it.  We made a headband out of paper and we watched people doing hongi. It was a fun day and the singing was my favourite. And also making the headband was my favourite." By Abigail

Keira told us she did a puppet show, played a tune with the sticks and used the poi.

Cameron told us he had a turn with rakau, ate his lunch in the kai room and played games with teenagers.

Liam told us he made a hat, took his shoes off and listened to Te Reo.

Aidan told us he made a headband, did the haka and played a stick game.

Ryan told us he had fun playing with the sticks and banging them together, having a pukana photo taken and making a headband.
