Walking Colour Experiment

On Friday we made colour walk from one glass to another glass. The children made some good predictions and observations.

Predications

Paige - The paper towel might bring the water.
Jack - I think the colours will change colours.
Bagas - I think it will explode.
Manaaki - It might look like a volcano coming out.
Liam and Sam - I think the water will go into the middle cup and might change colour.
Jennika - The colours might melt the paper towel.

Observations

Sophie - The paper towel is sucking up the coloured water.
Genavie - The yellow and blue colours mixed to make green.
Marissa - The colours mixed together.
Ellie - The yellow and red colours mixed to make orange.
Liam - The water is dribbling.
All the Children - The yellow and red water have gone down.

The classes' final prediction - If we leave the glasses over night all the water will go into the middle glass.

Marshmallow Shooter

We made a marshmallow shooter with our big buddies. We used a paper cup, balloon, scissors, tape and of course a marshmallow. Our goal was to launch a marshmallow from our paper cup. We had lots of fun! If we made it again we decided that we would need to have a stronger cup or possibly a small pipe so it wouldn't break.

A Story with Sophie's Dad

Today Sophie's Dad came in to read one of Sophie's favourite Dutch stories.  We liked listening to how the words were pronounced. We also learned how to say ducks, butterfly, frog, spider, friends and to count to ten.  A huge thank you to Sophie's Dad!

Thank you to Sophie and Daniel for helping us count to 10!
